In its early stages when it was popularly known as Internet academic community was using for communication, community setting and file transfer purposes. With the advent of web technologies and more recently of services such as online docs, wiki and many more the usefulness of web has increased in the context of teaching. The current trend towards cloud computing is expected to give further boost in this direction making web a even more useful resource for teaching. The cloud computing promises to make web the home of all computing resources and allow user to avail on retail basis.
